Sarah Hathway is the Socialist Alliance candidate for the Seat of Corio in Geelong.

Sarah is a 34-year-old mum who lives in Corio and works in community mental health services as a social worker. She is a long-term socialist activist and was previously a Councillor for the City of Greater Geelong.

Andrew Chuter is a mathematics teacher at the University of Sydney, father of two teenagers, apartment dweller, and cyclist. He is an active member of the National Tertiary Education Union and is heavily involved in community groups campaigning for more livable cities.

He was the President of the Friends of Erskineville for 5 years, during which time he has been central to winning campaigns for better active and public transport infrastructure. He is also a committee member of Action for Public Housing, organising petitions, public forums and protests.

Peter Boyle has been a socialist activist since the 1970s and writes for Green Left. He co-founded Rojava Solidarity - Sydney, which builds solidarity for the Kurdish-led revolution in north-east Syria, and helped initiate the campaign against Aboriginal deaths in custody in the 1980s.

Rachel Evans is known for her work in the LGBTIQ community and the public housing campaign, currently focused on saving boarding houses and preventing public housing from being demolished. She is a disability support worker and is active with Action for Public Housing and City of Sydney for Palestine.

Jade’s activism started with their involvement in the marriage equality campaign and they have fought tirelessly for Queer liberation ever since, emphasising the need for a sincere, grassroots movement that is based on radical solidarity between oppressed social groups and the wider working class.

Riley is a campaigner, organiser and mentor in many areas of activism. His lived experience with disability has made him a passionate advocate for the disadvantaged in our society.

He has been involved in campaigns for climate action and opposition to genocide in Palestine, resulting in his being detained twice by police in the course of his involvement in direct action protests.

Josh is a passionate advocate for social justice and a homegrown Fremantle musician. With a professional background in IT, he is now studying to be a primary school teacher.

“There is no need for poverty and a housing affordability crisis in Australia as corporations make record profits”, explains Josh.

Kamala Emanuel is a medical doctor, women’s rights advocate and mum. She has been active in Justice for Palestine Magan-djin against Israel’s genocide.

Alex Bainbridge is a Green Left photographer and journalist and long time socialist activist.

He has played active and leading roles in a large number of social movement campaigns over 35 years. Currently, he is active in Justice for Palestine Magan-djin.

Alex believes that the genocide in Gaza is a wake up call for us all. “If the rich countries like the USA and Australia can get away with supporting a live-streamed genocide in the 21st century, it will shape the entire future for all humanity.”
