Riley is a campaigner, organiser and mentor in many areas of activism. His lived experience with disability has made him a passionate advocate for the disadvantaged in our society.

He has been involved in campaigns for climate action and opposition to genocide in Palestine, resulting in his being detained twice by police in the course of his involvement in direct action protests.

"We've all seen first hand the effects of the climate crisis, grocery and rent prices skyrocket, and watched in horror as the genocide in Palestine unfolds on our phones and our TV screens while the Albanese Government continues to support and arm Israel. It’s time to take a stand.”

As Riley explains, as long as Australian politics is controlled by big business and its servants in parliament there can be no serious progress:

“It's impossible for these crises to be resolved within the system we live under. We must actively fight for a world that puts people and the planet before the profits of corporations and billionaires, and build the movement for change we need to make that possible."
