Jonathan Strauss – Senate (Qld)
Jonathan Strauss is a long-time education worker, a workplace and community organiser and dad. He has just moved to Brisbane after living in Cairns for 18 years.
He was president of the National Tertiary Education Union at James Cook University in northern Queensland for a decade before moving. He also worked from 2019 to 2024 with Rural Australians for Refugees as national secretary, president and vice-president.
“Working together to build a fairer society is what I do. If elected, I will keep working with unions and community movements for Palestine solidarity, First Nations soverieignty, workers’ rights, climate and building public housing and public transport.”
