Ross Smith for Western Region
Ross Smith is a Socialist Alliance candidate for the Western Victoria Region of the Legislative Council.
Ross grew up in Geelong and has been a union activist his whole life. He’s a maritime industry union delegate and stalwart, an anti-war campaigner and a committed socialist.
Ross said, “I’ve watched industry after industry close in this region, which has led to hidden poverty and intense anger. Lots of money is going towards the war machine. Why can’t we have good long-term jobs in renewable industries or manufacturing industries that create, rather than destroy? That’s what I want to fight for.”
