Socialist Alliance supports and campaigns for:
  • The abolition of debts to Australia incurred by poor nations in the South Pacific and south-east Asia;

  • The extension of aid programs, under the democratic control of local communities;

  • An extension of Australian citizenship to Pacific islanders displaced by global warming;

  • The withdrawal of Australian troops and police from countries in the region;

The Socialist Alliance recognises the legitimate national aspirations of the Kurdish people.

The struggle for profit leads inevitably to war. For this reason opposition to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as the proxy wars being waged by imperialist powers around the world, are closely interconnected with the fight for global social and economy justice.

Socialist Alliance supports and campaigns for:

  1. Solidarity with Latin American revolutionary movements challenging corporate exploitation, foreign domination and neoliberal policies including in Cuba, Venezuela and Bolivia and those countries who are seeking to building "socialism for the 21st century".
  2. Every step towards a strengthening of the independence and unity of Latin American nations against imperialist domination including, but not limited to, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas (ALBA), nationalisations, debt cancellations, land reform, governme

The Socialist Alliance demands that the Sri Lankan government stops the bombing, shelling and all military operations against the Tamil minority, and starts political negotiations based on the right to self-determination of the Tamils. We also demand the Australian government:
