Coral Wynter is a retired biochemist who worked in colon cancer research. She is a long-time socialist activist who has been active in campaigns for climate action and Latin American solidarity. She has led several solidarity brigades to Venezuela and supported solidarity campaigns with Cuba, Nicaragua and El Salvador. 

Coral was one of many who were arrested at the Rising Tide People's Blockade protests in Muloobina/Newcastle against the world's largest coal port in 2024 and 2025. She is also a lifelong feminist, fighting for equality in education, wages and abortion reform. She has two children and three grandchildren.
