Anne McMenamin for Port Adelaide

Long-time socialist activist Anne McMenamin is standing for the seat of Port Adelaide in the March SA Elections.

Anne is active in the Palestine solidarity movement and is campaigning to stop AUKUS.

“My first political action was in 1966 — the great Education Strike. From there, I became actively opposed to conscription and the Vietnam War, and then uranium mining.” Since 1966, Anne has worked tirelessly in anti-war, First Nations, refugee, climate action and LGBTQIA+ campaigns.

Anne, who lives in Rosewater, is a leading member of the Socialist Alliance in Kaurna Yerta/Adelaide.

Anne will fight for what the Port Adelaide community really needs: affordable housing, healthcare, quality education, climate action, social justice, the arts— not $375 billion on nuclear submarines and weapons manufacturing.

Anne says that AUKUS funding should be spent on alleviating the cost-of-living crisis, better services and a massive expansion of public housing and public transport.

The new AUKUS Osborne base risks environmental damage to Kaurna land and waters, on top of health risks to the entire community.

Scrapping AUKUS would mean a cleaner, healthier environment for the Port Adelaide community.

Vote for Anne McMenamin to say NO to AUKUS and YES to the Port Adelaide community.

Socialist Alliance is an anti-capitalist, ecosocialist party, which aims to give voice to working class struggles both inside and outside parliament. It was founded in 2001, is registered to run in elections at the federal level, and is seeking registration in SA.

Anne will appear as an Independent on the ballot paper. Help us register.

Authorised by M. Panegyres, Socialist Alliance, Adelaide Activist Centre, 9A Hindley St, Adelaide, 5000.
