These amendments seek to:

  1. Increase youth representation on the National Executive;
  2. Make the National Executive a more democratic body by ensuring that it comprises party leaders from each branch where possible;

In this piece I want to discuss our current orientation to electoral work, the way in which this is being carried out and how we can make it more effective.

At a special conference in February this year, Resistance: Socialist Youth voted to dissolve itself as an independent youth organization, and to reform as the youth wing of the Socialist Alliance.

In this short contribution I want to put forward the necessity of updating and expanding our education and propaganda materials. Since the merging of the Democratic Socialist Perspective (DSP) into the Socialist Alliance we have been in a period of transition. We have been and will continue to discuss what kind of a party we are and how we relate to different sections of the population through our political work.
